Mr. M. A. Sabur, Sponsor Director and Former Chairman of United Commercial Bank Limited (UCB) has been elected as the Chairman of Executive Committee of the Bank, says a press release. This was unanimously decided in 312th meeting of the Board of Directors held on February 1, 2011.

Mr. Sabur was born in January 2, 1948. He is the son of Late Alhaj Raham Ali and hails from Kanchan of Narayangonj district. He is the Founder Managing Director of Maxim Limited which includes three garment units, two towel & linen industries and two textile spinning industries. He is also the Chairman of Masco Group and Director of Janata Insurance Co. Ltd.

Mr. Sabur is a reputed philanthropist and actively associated with many educational and socio-cultural organizations of Chittagong and Dhaka. He is the Life Member of Kurmitola Golf Club, Dhaka and Bhatiary Golf Club, Chittagong. He is an MBA and active member of IBA Alumni Association.
