United Commercial Bank Limited (UCB) opened its 101st branch at Dampara, Chittagong on December 23, 2010. Alhaj Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury (Babu) MP, Hon’ble Chairman, Standing Committee for Textile and Jute Ministry and Sponsor Director of United Commercial Bank Limited inaugurated the new branch as the Chief Guest. Chairman, Audit Committee and Director Mr. Md. Jahangir Alam Khan along with other Directors namely Hajee M.A. Kalam, Mr. Shabbir Ahmed, Mr. Nur Uddin Javed, Mr. Riyadh Zafar Chowdhury, Mr. Nasim Kalam, Mr. Bazal Ahmed and Mrs. Setara Begum were present in the opening ceremony.

In the speech, Mr. Chowdhury expressed his gratitude to the clients, businessmen, well-wishers and local communities of Chittagong. He also requested for full cooperation and dedication from the concerned personnel to uphold UCB’s continuous improvement of the service.

The Managing Director of the Bank, Mr. M. Shahjahan Bhuiyan also thanked the local communities for active participation in the opening ceremony and briefly explained UCB’s commitment towards the service quality. Deputy Managing Directors: Mr. Shahed Jalal Chowdhury and Mr. Mirza Mahmud Rafiqur Rahman, other Senior Officials from the Head Office along with distinguished guests were also present in the ceremony. The inauguration was preceded by a special “Doa Mehfil” inside the branch premises.
